I am an Associate Professor of Information and Decision Sciences (IDS) in the College of Business Administration at the University of Illinois Chicago, where I also have a courtesy appointment in Computer Science. Before joining UIC, I was a postdoc in the Society and Algorithms lab at the Management Science and Engineering Dept. of Stanford University. I obtained my Ph.D. in EECS from UC Berkeley in 2015. My research lies at the interface between AI and the operations of digital economic systems such as online labor platforms and e-commerce marketplaces. Recently, I have been mainly interested in foundation models and transfer-learning methods for causal demand prediction, with applications to pricing and marketing.
Industry affiliations: I am an Amazon Scholar in Pricing and Promotions Science and a common partner at Z21 ventures.
